We are the Erewash Phoenix Choir
The Erewash Phoenix Choir started when a few friends got together in a family living room. It has now grown to a thirty strong choir with a schedule of rehearsals and performances throughout the year. We are always keen to meet to new members who would like to join us. To find out more, head over to our JOIN US page for details.
Meet our Musical Director
Terry Clay, who comes from Heanor, started playing the piano aged six and attended the local Grammar School before taking up a place to study piano and viola at the Royal Manchester College of Music, graduating in 1962.
Terry taught at Tupton Hall Grammar School before moving to Hertfordshire,

where he spent ten years leading the Stevenage Male Voice Choir. He returned to the East Midlands for work, and became involved with a number of local male voice choirs, including Alfreton Male Voice Choir. He joined at the end of 2023.

Meet our Accompanist
Trace Turner is from Shirland. She taught herself to play Happy Birthday on the piano at the age of three, before she could even see the keys, and started piano lessons aged seven. Trace started playing the pipe organ in Shirland at the age of 11, and continues to play the organ in Shirland and across Derbyshire.
Though not a career teacher, Trace has taught piano and saxophone to many, and loves this side of her life. She began work as a choir accompanist a few years ago, and alongside EPC, is also the accompanist for Pye Hill Male Voice Choir.
