We are the Erewash Phoenix Choir

We are a friendly and lively choir based on Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border at Trowell Parish Hall. We rehearse on Wednesdays 7:30-9:30pm and we sing a wide range of music.

We have a sensible diary of bookings and enjoy singing together. The choir began its life over 15 years ago with just a handful of singers who met in someone's house and has now grown to a 20-strong choir.

The choir is always keen for new members to join in the fun and if you think you would be interested head over to our Join us page to find out more.

Our Musical Director

The choir is led by Chris Horn. Chris grew up singing in the Bradford Choristers and has sung all over Yorkshire and the North West in cathedral choirs. Chris has directed a number of different choirs across the North West and been involved in overseas trips to Poland and Uganda to teach singing as well as taking choirs to perform. Chris is also a keen jazz musician on trombone and has worked as a musical director and vocal coach for amateur dramatics groups, as a result of this Chris enjoys choosing repertoire for the choir from a wide range of styles and genres. Chris is enthusiastic and passionate about improving the musical standard of every ensemble he works with.
